Session Handouts

The 2008 PAACE Midwinter Conference featured many excellent sessions and roundtable discussions. Presenters had the option to submit their handouts electronically for posting to the website. Below are the handouts and presentations submitted to date. Free software is available to open Adobe PDF files and Microsoft Powerpoint files.

Presenters can submit handouts to be posted to this website by sending files (PDF preferred) to Destiny Long (dlong@tiu11.org) by March 15, 2008. Be sure to include your name and session title.

Learn word recognition strategies that significantly enhance word pattern identification with improved fluency. Beginning with phonemic awareness, the session culminates with decoding techniques used to systematically analyze and produce multi-syllable words. Pennsylvania's rural family literacy programs have the ability to change the lives of literacy students while improving educational opportunities for the family and communities they live in. Yet, due to distinct barriers many rural literacy programs make great efforts to serve the individuals in need. Participants will identify obstacles they face within their programs and work together to form strategies to overcome their barriers.
